Children of Universe

"I feel a bit lost and confused in my own country. In a sense this is where all my root coming from, yet it seems foreign to me at the same time. " I told my husband who is at home in America.
"It's only natural. People always seek belonging to feel safe. You don't belong there anymore."
"I don't belong here?" I don't how to think although he is trying to comfort me.
"No, You belong to Universe." He sounds certain.
That was the conversation I had with my husband yesterday.
To understand what does that mean, you have to look the world in a border view. People always want to identify with their own culture. It's a way to find ones' coordination in this world. But it's also where the thinking of confinement begin. In the speed of globalization, people today are losing their cultural heritage faster then ever. Seeking who I am through the cultural identity is seemingly only nature. But the problem also begins here. Sometimes over-emphasized cultural identity causes cultural clash between cultures. The intolerance and lack of respecting, understanding other cultures are often leads to secessionism.
More then ever, Human being's fate are tied together. Culture alone doesn't defy our future, values do. We as a species needs to upgrade our thinking. Maintaining our own cultural heritage and changing our consciousness to meet the border meaning of existence are equally important.
May the child of universe raise and thrive.
